What the hell had I done? Obviously, I knew what I’d done, I’d had sex with Hunter in the storeroom of the Stars & Stripes – on singles night. It had been loud sex too, if the cheering crowd had been anything to go by. It seemed however, they had no idea what they were cheering for and were only following everyone else’s lead. Jefferson was also missing, thank goodness. According to Penny who had taken the bartenders vow of silence, so we didn’t need to worry about her, Jefferson left with the redhead about the same time Hunter and I had started kissing.

Therefore, I figured we were clear to keep our little assignation secret. It wasn’t that I hadn’t enjoyed it or wished it hadn’t happened – well I kinda did. In any other circumstances however, I’d have called Bronte and spilled all the gory, delectable detail; particularly the part about that huge amazing penis of his. However, this wasn’t normal circumstances. This was Hunter Delaney, my brother’s best friend and serial one night only banger of women. At least I’d always thought he was, but Sam Outlaw. Who knew?

“Hey good looking.” Stopping me from my brooding, Davis dropped a chart in front of me, on the desk and yawned. “That’s the latest spirometry result for little Millie in bed four.”

I picked up the chart and gave it the once over and then smiled. “An improvement, that’s good.”

The poor little thing was only seven but suffered badly with asthma. She was in with us after having a real bad attack while playing in her grandparent’s yard.

“Yeah, I think Dr. Andrews will let her go home tomorrow.” Davis’ eyes lit up at the mention of his crush. “I’m still hopeful of storeroom sex with him you know.”

I almost choked and felt my face heat up at his words. I hadn’t told Davis about the night before and had no intention of doing so. I hadn’t even told Bronte. She was my best friend, no doubt, but had a mouth bigger than Davis’, which was saying a lot. But shit, I really wanted to tell her how big Hunter’s dick was. A girl shouldn’t have to keep those kinds of secrets, but I guessed needs must.

“You okay?” Davis asked. “You’ve gone a little red there. Is there something you’re not telling me?”

Shit, he was too sharp for his own good, even after a twelve-hour shift.

“Nope. Why would there be?”

I busied myself with putting Millie’s chart away but could feel his eyes on me.

“What?” I asked when I looked up to see he was indeed staring at me.

“Please don’t tell me you’ve had sex with him. I’m not sure I could forgive you if you had.
